Image Acquisition
In order to acquire histological data images, our platform is equipped with:
Confocal microscopes
Optical microscopes
° A fluorescence microscope (Olympus XI)
° A Leica fluorescence microscope
Slide scanners
° A Leica Aperio Versa slide scanner
° A low-resolution slide scanner
Image Analyses
This platform performs qualitative and quantitative analyses of microscopic data from human tissues and pathology models and therapies developed in the laboratory.
Activities
° Synaptic quantification in neurodegenerative diseases
° Structural analyses of cells (Sholl analysis, 3D reconstruction)
° Time-lapse confocal image analysis to quantify Schwann cell migration
Equipments
° Work stations for image analysis
° Wacom tablets for region of interest segmentation
° Different softwares are used for tasks such as acquiring mosaic images, automated object detection by thresholding, stereological cell counting, or three-dimensional image analysis.
