Welcome to the Neuro-Bicêtre laboratory

At the heart of the Neuro-Bicêtre unit, we investigate two major areas of neurological diseases: proteinopathies, characterized by the accumulation of misfolded proteins (Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy body dementias, amyloid neuropathies), and myelinopathies, linked to myelin sheath dysfunction (multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries). Our work aims to uncover the mechanisms behind protein aggregates propagation and to develop innovative therapies for remyelination. By combining cutting-edge technologies (super-resolution microscopy), animal models, and clinical collaborations, we seek to translate these discoveries into targeted therapeutic approaches, notably by integrating sex-specific differences (hormonal approaches, steroids) and inflammatory processes. Our mission: to turn scientific excellence into tangible hope for patients.

June 2026

A month of scientific exchange and recognition for our laboratory!

June 2026 was a particularly active month for our team. Our early-career researchers had the opportunity to present their work at several major scientific conferences.

Advances in Multiple Sclerosis & Related Disorders (ICM, Paris)

Poster presentation by Maysoun Ayadi.

GdR Imabio Annual Meeting (ENS Paris-Saclay, Paris)

Poster presentation by Kerry Chen.

FAAST Symposium (Maison de Chimie, Paris)

Participation of Alexandra Heitz and Lolie Garcia (Award for best oral presentation received by Lolie).
